Our Artisans

We take pride in locally handcrafting all our products at Beit Matta.

After the revolution in 2011, Egyptian artisans and workshops were dying out as a result of the unrest. Demand for handmade products halted, and businesses were not interested in products made by handymen anymore.

Beit Matta enabled the talents of these artists by giving them an opportunity of producing high-end boutique products, by encouraging them and enhancing their work to reach international standards, eventually generating the demand for them.

Beit Matta also works with several underprivileged communities. One project specifically empowers women by working with them on the signature seat cushions made in “Zabaleen” area in Egypt as a part of NGO efforts.
